The GrĂ¼ne Polizei arrested Jan Hendriks on July 27, 1944, together with Bertus Zefat. He was taken to the prison at the Amersfoort internment camp and tortured but did not give away any information. He died on November 18, 1944, in Germany. Abeltje continued doing Resistance work until the end of the war.
